When to think of fertility detox
Do you suffer from:
- Flatulence or pain after eating?
- Irregular bowel movements?
- Skin conditions e.g. dermatitis or psoriasis?
- Stomach cramps?
- Excessive bloating/ hormonal imbalances?
- Poor immune function?
- Bad breath?
- Poor energy levels, tired and sluggish?
If you answered yes to more than 2 of these symptoms you may benefit from some dietary and lifestyle changes otherwise known as a detox.
If you haven’t done a detox before it really isn’t anything to be feared, in fact it really is just a healthy way of eating. There are three particular stages of a detox, these cannot all be achieved by doing a 3 day fast or popping some over the counter pills for a week. To complete a fertility detox it will take a minimum of three weeks. It is always advisable to embark on a detox as a couple so as to offer support to one another and enjoy your new recipes together. A detox is not recommended if you are already pregnant
You may like to start moving your diet towards a detox diet before your first consultation with Kylie. To start living the detox lifestyle you should: eliminate caffeine and alcohol, always choose fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables (buy organic produce when possible), avoid packaged and processed foods as much as possible, avoid foods containing artificial colours, flavours, additives, stabilisers and flavour enhancers as well as foods containing hydrogenated fats. Read ingredient lists on products to ensure that the food does not contain high amounts of saturated fat, gluten or sugar. Add fresh vegetable juice to your diet if possible.
